As a nation, we throw away 157,389 tonnes of food a year in New Zealand, which amounts to $1.17 billion a year on food that we buy and throw away uneaten! Did you know that 45% of our household rubbish bins are filled with perfectly edible and avoidable food “waste”?!

When we throw our food into the bin we don’t see the harmful greenhouse gases it is going to release in the landfill. We also don’t see the fuel and resources that went into producing the food or see the people around the world who are hungry. All we see is an apple in the bin.

How can we make a difference to these figures by being more mindful and aware within our own households? Find out more at this fascinating workshop.

    See you there!

This initiative is brought to you by Harbour Grounds and proudly supported by the Eco Matters Environment Trust, Auckland Council and Love Food Hate Waste.

Please note this event is exclusively for Harbour Grounds customers.
