Cooking for Venilale

Featuring food director Mana Carla Chung, 20 participants will learn to make four delicious culturally affirming dishes (Batar Da’an, Brinjella, rice and a sweet) then enjoy a feast together. Traditional Timor- Leste music will provide accompaniment as Mana Carla explains the significance of these foods in the context of Portuguese colonial occupation, Indonesian occupation and the resistance and a contemporary SE Asian society with a robust cultural life-style.
