Move over Jamie Oliver, it's time to cook MY way! 🥘🍔🧁
From meatball subs to pasta bake, mini muffins to savoury scrolls - these cooking workshops are jam-packed with take home recipes, budget-friendly grocery tips and easy food waste routines!
Workshops are for 12 – 24 year olds and made possible with thanks to the NSW Government Office of Youth School Holiday Funding Program.
COST: $5.00 + booking fee (includes workshop ingredients, access to cooking utensils and appliances + a brand-new personalised kitchen kit for each young person to take home)
TIME: Each workshop runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm (4hrs in total)

Wednesday 1 October // Senior Citizens Centre, Tarcutta Street
Tuesday 7 October // Ashmont Community Resource Centre, Tobruk Street
Wednesday 8 October // Ngurra Hub Ashmont, Blakemore Ave
Workshop Schedule:
10:00am ➡ Welcome & Overview
10:15am ➡ Prepare snack
10:45am ➡ Prepare main meal
12:00pm ➡ Eat lunch together
12:30pm ➡ Food hygiene, budgeting and Q&A
1:00pm ➡ Food Waste with Sam
1:30pm ➡ Take-home packs and cookbook presentation
2:00pm ➡ Finish
NOTE: It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian/responsible adult to choose programs that are suitable for their young person.
Wagga Wagga City Council have right of refusal for your booking, if selected programs do not meet the needs or age of your young person.
Accessibility and Safety: Tolland Community Centre, Senior Citizens Centre, Ashmont Community Resource Centre and Ngurra Hub are all accessible buildings with disability bathrooms, pathways, indoor movement areas and rail support.
Each workshop can host a maximum of 6x young people and each workshop will be facilitated by a trained cooking instructor from Riverina Community College and supported by Wagga Wagga City Council officers who have current NSW Working With Children Checks.
Young people aged 12-16 require parent/carer permission to attend. Parent and/or carer are welcome to be present for the duration of the workshop and can register for FREE. Consistent supervision is provided throughout the workshop and risk assessments are completed in line with the NSW Child Safe Scheme and Wagga Wagga City Council's Child Safe Policy.
