Cooking with Paula - Oaxacan Food & Folklórico Dance

Join us for an afternoon of learning and cooking with Paula! 

Spend an afternoon learning about the Oaxacan culture and cooking a classic dish. We’ll have all the things you need, just bring yourself and your family! After lunch, enjoy a performance from Cultura Mis Raices, a local Folklórico dance group, and take a tour of Kindness Farm!

12:15pm - 12:45pm Eat and enjoy the Folklórico performance

12:45pm-1:30pm - Explore the farm! 

¡Acompáñanos a una tarde de aprendizaje y cocina con Paula!

Pasa una tarde aprendiendo sobre la cultura Oaxaqueña y preparando un platillo clásico. Nosotros pondremos todo lo necesario; ¡tú solo trae a tu familia! Después de la comida, disfruta de una presentación de Cultura Mis Raíces - un grupo local de danza folclórica - y explora la granja Kindness Farm.

🚙 PARKING / APARCAMIENTO

Please park on the farm side of the street anywhere up or down the street. Do NOT park on the grass across the street from the farm (you will see "No Parking" signs). This is important for safety vehicles to pass through. We reserve 2 driveway parking spots (in the gravel, on the right) for folks with accessibility needs.

Por favor, estacione su vehículo en el lado de la calle donde se encuentra la granja, en cualquier punto de la misma. NO estacione sobre el césped que está frente a la granja (verá señales de "Prohibido estacionar"). Esto es importante para permitir el paso de vehículos de emergencia. Reservamos dos plazas de aparcamiento en la entrada (sobre la grava, a la derecha) para personas con necesidades de accesibilidad.

🌼 ACCESSIBILTY INFORMATION / INFORMACIÓN SOBRE ACCESIBILIDAD

Venue is not certified ADA accessible. The farm's bathroom is not technically ADA accessible, but has been used by folks with wheelchairs. The majority of the farm itself is accessible, though not all parts are (we have some narrow pathways). Note that we use woodchips for the majority of our pathways.

El recinto no cuenta con certificación de accesibilidad ADA. El baño de la granja no cumple técnicamente con las normas ADA, aunque ha sido utilizado por personas en silla de ruedas. La mayor parte de la granja es accesible, aunque no todas las zonas lo son (tenemos algunos senderos estrechos). Cabe señalar que utilizamos virutas de madera en la mayoría de nuestros senderos.

ABOUT / SOBRE PAULA HERNANDEZ

Me llamo Paula Hernandez soy de oaxaca Mexico tengo 26 ańos acá en ciudad de Portland OR. Tengo una familia con 5 niños ahora son adolescentes y me gusta mucho pertenecer a esta bonita comunidad donde he conocido a muchas personas que me motivaron a seguir aprendiendo de sus tradiciones y compartir mi cultura Oaxaqueña. Gracias por hacerme esta invitación y ser parte de este evento y la granja. 

My name is Paula Hernandez, I'm from Oaxaca, Mexico. I have been in Portland for 26 years. I have a family with five children, now teenagers, and I really enjoy being part of this wonderful community where I've met so many people who have motivated me to continue learning about their traditions and sharing my Oaxacan culture. Thank you for this invitation and for being part of this event and the farm.
