    Event description

    A BioBlitz...is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area. Groups of scientists, naturalists and volunteers conduct an intensive field study over a continuous time period.

    Cooloola BioBlitz 2024 
    will be based in the beautiful coastal village of Rainbow Beach in Queensland. Field trips venture into the Great Sandy National Park, Cooloola Recreation Area and Inskip Point Recreation Area. 

    The Cooloola Coast is a region with stunning natural beauty and high environmental values. It is recognised as a natural environment of international significance: 

    • UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List
    • Ramsar Wetland of International Significance
    • UNESCO Great Sandy Biosphere Reserve
    • Great Sandy Marine Park
    • Great Sandy National Park: Cooloola Section
    • Wolf Rock Marine Protection area

    Activities include:

    • Guided nature walks with experts by day
    • Presentations by experts in the evenings
    • Dinner with a Scientist each night  (Additional fee)
    • Nocturnal field trips (optional)
    • Magical Moments - surprise special events 
    • 48 hours of nature!
    • Early morning bird walks

    NOTE: Ticket prices on the registration page include GST. At checkout, Humanitix charges 2.5% + $0.50 per ticket purchased. So, if you purchase a registration and a meal, the booking fee is charged on each of those tickets. 100% of booking fees go to charities for disadvantaged kids.
