Working together for a more accessible Aotearoa

Event description

In New Zealand we have a variety of organisations who provide accessibility services to businesses and government. Each of them aims to improve accessibility for New Zealanders in some way. Many are either partially or fully government funded, while other's like Access Advisors are a social enterprise.

But limited government funding and a lack of public awareness of the services available means that we often work independently even though we have a shared goal.

This webinar provides an opportunity to find out more about some of these organisations such as Access Advisors, NZDisability Employers Network, Be Lab, BLVNZ, CCS Disability Action. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss how to encourage collaboration between accessibility service providers.

During this webinar each of the participants will discuss the services they provide, their funding model and then together with we will discuss and answer questions about:

  • What are the barriers to working more closely together?
  • How can we overcome these barriers and work towards a more accessible Aotearoa?
  • How can we increase public awareness of what services we provide?
  • How can we combine our efforts to have a greater voice?
