COP31: Integrity, Influence and the Blue Pacific
Description
A joint online webinar from Transparency International New Zealand and Transparency International Australia
Monday 26 October 2026 | 11am Fiji Time | 12pm Aotearoa NZ Time | 60 minutes
Pacific countries have long called for stronger global climate action. As COP31 approaches, the question is whether Pacific voices will have the influence needed to shape the decisions that follow.
COP31 will be hosted by Türkiye, with Australia leading the negotiations. This creates an important opportunity to ask who has access to the negotiating process, whose interests carry weight, and what safeguards will help ensure climate decisions serve the communities most affected.
Join Transparency International New Zealand and Transparency International Australia for a Pacific-centred talanoa on integrity in climate negotiations.
Pacific civil society and climate integrity voices will explore where transparency and accountability need to improve, what meaningful participation looks like, and what governments and civil society can do before COP31.
The discussion will include a short introduction to integrity risks in the COP process, a facilitated talanoa, and audience questions. Speakers and registration details will be announced soon.
Facilitated by Fenton Lutunatabua.
Pacific voices need more than a place in the room. They need a fair opportunity to shape the outcome.
