Award for Scholarship on Christianity in Business

Event description

Join us Monday, October 28, 4:15-5:15 pm, at the Calvin University School of Business for the annual Award for Scholarship on Christianity in Business. This award recognizes an academic paper that makes an exceptional contribution to Christian theological inquiry in business or the social scientific study of Christian religious phenomena in business.

Mathilde Oosterhuis-Blok will give a presentation and accept the award for her work on the winning academic paper, Oosterhuis-Blok, Mathilde, & Graafland, Johan. 2023. Free markets and public interests in the pharmaceutical industry: A comparative analysis of Catholic and Reformational critiques of Neoliberal thought. Business Ethics Quarterly, 33(4): 704-731.

Mathilde's research focuses on the responsibilities of government and business for the public interest from the perspective of Reformational philosophy compared to other approaches. She also works as a project manager for (local) government organizations and leads projects related to ICT implementations and organizational change.

Light refreshments will be available prior to the presentation.
