Accessible Housing Guidelines Consultation (Industry)
Event description
The Australian Human Rights Commission (Commission) is partnering with Churchill Research Fellow Kim Samuel, and the Churchill Trust, to develop and pilot Australian Design Guidelines for Access and Inclusion in Residential Development.
Background
The Commission is holding a number of consultation sessions to provide stakeholders with an overview of the draft Guidelines. Stakeholders will also have an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
Feedback will inform the development of the Guidelines and ensure that they are fit for purpose and consider a broad range of accessibility needs, inclusion elements, intersectionality, best practice universal design, and regulatory requirements.
This consultation session is targeted for Industry bodies and professionals involved in housing design, development, planning and policy, including specialist disability housing.

Accessibility
We can provide accessibility services such as Auslan interpreters (on screen for the whole session) or live captions on a separate screen.
Please tell us if you have any accessibility requirements when you register.
Note that due to the availability of Auslan interpreters, requests for Auslan should be provided 5 days before the event.
