Neurodivergence is fucking awesome.
We are weird, we can think about so many different things at once... but at times this can be overwhelming and cause anxiety... especially in a society that often reprimands people for being 'different'.

ADHD and Anxiety are two completely different experiences, with varying physiological mechanisms, however some of the tools and herbs can be beneficial to both, and quite often people who experience neurodivergence also have a relationship with anxiety, as GABA pathways can be affected.

This workshop celebrates neurodivergence, and offers a platform for learning tools that may positively impact quality of life.

Taj Scicluna is a Herbalist who has experienced the challenges of ADHD and Anxiety firsthand, and would like to not only share what she has learned to regulate her nervous system and improve focus, but create a space where others can do so as well.

Having ADHD has been incredibly difficult at times, Taj has had feeling almost crippling self-doubt, always assuming she is doing something 'wrong' or affecting someone adversely... constantly told to sit still and be quiet, and people mistaking her enthusiasm and charge as disruption and chaos.
It has been a lifetime of navigation, and still is, and through therapy, herbalism studies, self-study and trial and error, she has found more of what works for her.

This is not a workshop designed to make you function like everyone else does - it is only to assist with strategies that may improve quality of life, and that is up to you to determine.
You will have an opportunity to think of the quality of life you would like to live, if Anxiety or ADHD is impacting that, and if there are tools available that may help to soften that impact.

In this online exploration:

- Somatic experiences of both ADHD & Anxiety, and how they can both increase and effect function
- Science behind ADHD
- Science behind Anxiety
- Mechanisms of Actions of particular herbs on these pathways
- Lifestyle, Diet, Exercise etc. that is helpful for maximising stability and grounding
- Key tools that may be of interest to people with neurodivergence
- Community platform for sharing what has and has not worked for you as far as strategies for neurodivergence and anxiety

Taj Scicluna will be specialising in Neurodivergence, Anxiety and the role of the gut microbiome in neurological and immune function as a Herbal Clinician, and would like to explore ways she can assist people in her practice.
