Piha Adventure Camp

Join Wild Adventurers on an epic overnight adventure, camping in the Waitakere's on the West Coast. An epic spot for exploring the local waterfalls, beach and bush staying the night at Auckland Tramping Club’s backcountry hut, Ngaro Te Kotare. 

Great opportunity to kick back relax and go wild at the same time as connecting with nature.

The experience led by our knowledgable and experienced outdoor education staff Anna and Charlie. 

Leaving Mangawhai 9am Friday 18th August arriving back 2pm 19th August 2023.

Meeting spot - Managwhai Domain Carpark (next to the playground) 

Cost $185 per child (only limited spots available)

Includes - transport, 2 x meals, hut fee plus fun activities! 

Gear List - there is limited space available so please pack lightly!

• Backpack to carry all their gear
• Day bag to carry water bottle and waterproofs 
• Sleeping bag 
• Head torch/flashlight and spare batteries
• Rubbish bag – all rubbish must be taken out with you

Toiletries

• Toiletries, including insect repellent, sunscreen, and personal medication
• Tooth brush and toothpaste 

Clothing 

• Raincoat 
• Waterproof trousers 
• Sunhat 
• socks and underwear, plus spare
• warm hat and gloves 
• 1 pair of clothes for hut/ sleeping in
• Trainers 
• Togs and light weight towel 
• Spare change of clothes

Food 

• Water bottle 
• Eating and cooking utensils – knife, fork, spoon, plate, cup, 
• Food - snacks and lunch 
• Pocket money for a bakery on the way home for lunch (ideas for meals below!)

Lunch: Bring their own

Dinner: bring a vegetable to add to the soup pot the rest of dinner will be provided (please let us know in the booking form any dietary requirements) 

Breakfast: will be provided 

Lunch on Saturday: Pocket money for a bakery treat on the way home
