Join our May Board Ready Circle for graduates of The Observership Program

Whether you're looking for your first post-Observership board role and not sure where to start, or you've submitted multiple applications without success, or you've recently secured your first board position, join us to share your experiences and insights. In this supportive environment, you'll engage in focused discussions and learn from peers on a similar journey.

Each session is purposefully limited to a small group to ensure meaningful interaction and personalised attention. Sessions run every two months, giving you the flexibility to attend one or all sessions based on your availability and interests. Each gathering is shaped by participants' interests and needs.

Facilitated by Tammy Atkins FAICD, an experienced non-executive director and The Observership Program's Alumni Director.

We develop the next generation of board-ready leaders by matching emerging talent with future-thinking boards through our unique Observer pathway.

Finding experienced directors from diverse backgrounds can be challenging, but there's a growing expectation and requirement for boards to truly reflect their stakeholders and communities. For emerging leaders, breaking into the boardroom can be a frustrating catch-22: boards want experienced directors, but how can talented individuals gain that experience without first serving on a board?

The Observership Program solves this by creating a diverse pipeline of future leaders. We give skilled young professionals the chance to sit on government and not-for-profit boards as Observers, providing first-hand exposure to board decision-making and operations. Through targeted training and mentorship, we ensure they're valuable contributors around the table.

For over a decade, we've been creating alternative pathways to board roles that don't depend on existing connections or previous director experience. Our approach doesn't just open doors – it transforms boardrooms by bringing fresh perspectives, contemporary skills and diverse, lived experiences to governance roles across the country.
