API Power Ambassador 2026 - Information Session 3

The future of our industry depends on the students we inspire today.

Join us for the third API Power Ambassador Information Session as we explore how you can make a meaningful impact in schools and communities by sharing your passion for the power industry. Whether you're an experienced professional, recent graduate or undergraduate student, you have the ability to help young people discover the exciting and rewarding careers that keep our communities powered.

This interactive session will showcase the range of Careers in Power resources available through the API, including our SolarBuddy STEM outreach activities, classroom resources, presentations and engagement tools designed to make school visits simple, impactful and rewarding.

We'll walk through:

• How to get involved in school outreach activities

• The resources and support available through the API

• How to use SolarBuddy and other STEM activities to engage students

• Tips for creating memorable and meaningful experiences

• How we can capture and share the collective impact being made across the industry

Most importantly, we'll discuss why industry outreach matters. By connecting with students, sharing our stories and bringing the power sector to life, we can help build awareness of the opportunities available, challenge misconceptions, and inspire the next generation of engineers, technicians, operators and energy leaders.

Who should attend?

This session is for API Power Ambassadors, industry professionals, graduates and undergraduate students who are passionate about promoting careers in power and making a difference in their communities.

Together, we can help students see the possibilities, understand the importance of our industry, and imagine themselves playing a role in Australia's energy future.

Background:

The API (Australian Power Institute) is a national community focused on developing the future workforce for the Australian power sector.

Our Careers in Power activities encompasses all the API’s stem outreach for informing the next generation into being AWARE and EXCITED about the opportunities that are available in the power industry.

Together, we will create awareness and excitement among school students about the challenges and opportunities that exist. We will show them how innovative technologies and approaches are transforming the industry, from renewable energy to smart grids, from energy storage to electric vehicles.
