Australian POTS Foundation webinar: The Cost of Missing School: Chronic Illness and Education Disruption
Event description
Join us for a special webinar with Cofounder and CEO of MissingSchool Megan Gilmour. Global education ambassador and technology trailblazer Megan Gilmour co-founded MissingSchool in 2012 after her son, Darcy, endured two years of school isolation due to illness. Since then, she has relentlessly championed students facing complex health challenges and school absence through world- and Australian-first initiatives. Megan’s early drive for social justice led her from Sydney’s west to the office of the NSW Finance Minister and later managing global development programs across 24 countries. She is recognised internationally as an award-winning leader, a Churchill Policy Fellow, Deakin Honorary Fellow, and the 2025 ACT Australian of the Year. Megan will be joining us to discuss the implications of missing school for young people living with POTS and what we can do to respond.
Please note the link to join the webinar will be emailed one day prior to the event to the email address you register with. There will be time for questions after the webinar, which can be submitted via the Q&A button. We will endeavour to get through as many as we can on the day. The webinar will be recorded and sent to all registrants within a few weeks following the live event.
