23rd B•A•P•S Meeting
Event description
Dear B•A•P•S members,
The MRO Australasia is back in town and so are we! It's been a while since we met last time in March and lot of things have happened. Let's get back together right off the bat of the MRO conference, which concludes on Nov 14 with a Qantas Maintenance Hangar tour. What a great way to have an enjoyable evening with likeminded people, talking aerospace and aviation.
The next B•A•P•S meeting will take place on Thursday, Nov 14 from 6.00pm till 9.00pm at "Salt And Cheese" in Hamilton. This time we welcome Australian aviation legend John McDermott, President of McDermott Aviation.
John and his team embarked on an incredible story. While technically everybody can buy an aircraft, it becomes probably a bit more difficult buying a former German Airforce transport aircraft, bringing/flying it to Australia and then modifying it under the regulators watch so that it can be used for aerial firefighting. We will have the opportunity to hear from John what it takes to acquire and certify a former German Airforce aircraft.
Follow this link for a small video teaser.
Starting as an aircraft engineer with Australia’s Ansett Airlines in the mid-1970s, John McDermott could not have imagined that a few decades later, the company he founded would be one of the leading aerial firefighting companies in Australia, with the largest Bell 214 fleet in the world and now introducing the C160 Transall.
This is another great opportunity where B•A•P•S adds value to the aviation and aerospace industry in and around Brisbane - by connecting the industry. This is a perfect event for getting to know new people, catching up with friends and colleagues and of course networking with like-minded people who share the same interest and passion - Aviation and Aerospace!
Don't hesitate to bring your colleagues (after registering) and please don't forget to bring your business cards!
See you there!
