Beginners Stained Glass Copperfoiling workshop
Event description
Learn how to make a copperfoil suncatcher and a small panel
1 day workshop Saturday 10 am to 4.30pm, All materials, tools, tuition and studio space included in price.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn to construct your own suncatcher and small glass panel by practising key techniques such as glass cutting, copper foiling, soldering, finishing and polishing. The workshop is designed to be practical, featuring numerous demonstrations alongside your hands-on practice to effectively teach each skill. Please note that the maximum size for panels is 150mm x 200 mm due to time and space constraints. The design is to be a simple pattern as mastering glass cutting is essential for your design to work, matching your cut glass to the pattern can be tricky and solder does not hide all mistakes.
Your instructor with over 15 years of experience, brings extensive knowledge and enthusiasm to the course, ensuring a thorough understanding of the craft. The class structure combines demonstrations with direct practice to help you master the techniques, offering a comprehensive learning experience.
This workshop focuses exclusively on the copper foiling technique and does not cover leading techniques, glass painting, or kiln-fired glass methods
If you wish to continue developing your skills you can enrol again for further learning. Weekly classes will also be on offer for copper foiling after this workshop has been attended.
