Event description
Full Details
Saturday 4th October: 1:00pm – 7:00pm
& Sunday 5th October: 9:00am – 6:00pm
Held at Miow Shen Temple, Mount Tamborine, QLD
-This is a non-residential gathering—you will return home or to local accommodation overnight and return the next day to complete your drum.
Do you feel the beat of the drum calling you?
Calling you to re-member.....
That there was once a time when the drummers were women.
Siobhán will midwife you through the journey of birthing your own Medicine Drum. Bringing attention to the shamanic (inner) journey, exploring your birthing imprint as well as coming to an understanding of the inner workings of how you now give birth (to all manner of creative projects and ideas, not just babies) in your life now.
These gatherings will also offer a framework and guidance into shamanic drum journeying, accessing all your senses. You will be guided to meet with the spirit of the animal hide you will be using to make your drum (kangaroo), the spirit of the timber (willow), as well as the spirit of your drum as an ally in your life.
Siobhán weaves in the shamanic dimensions of what it is to craft in a sacred way, in ceremony. She creates space for women to reconnect with the creative life force that pulses within all of us. A connection that is needed to be in sacred co-creation with life. Using the medicine drum crafting as a vehicle to re-connect women to a deep trust in their own unique creative life force and their capacity to birth all manner of things into life.
Moving beyond comparison, conditioning, and perfectionism. Women craft their very own unique drums from this place of trust, with gentle guidance and midwifing from Siobhán when needed. This is why these drums are Medicine Drums, not simply instruments. They all come out looking different, completely unique. Each woman trusting that she will make exactly the drum she needs to make, both to support her own life journey and the work she intends to do with the drum.
A medicine drum is so much more than an instrument. It is a guide and ally of transformation, a vehicle into trance-like states that connects you to your inner wisdom and power. Connecting you to the Divine/ Spirit/ God by whichever name you speak it. The relationship with your drum begins with your intention to make the drum. It is a sacred and transformational relationship that can last a lifetime.
Together we will re-member the Herstory of the drum and reclaim ourselves as sacred technicians of her medicine, which as women, is our sacred birth rite.
