Event description

Join us for an afternoon of inspiration and community business know-how!

If you have ever considered starting and growing a business in the care sector, becoming a carer, or making a difference to your community , this event is for you.

  • Hear how Colne Valley Care has established itself as an ethical not-for-profit cooperative business.
  • Ask Graham Mitchell, the organisation's chair, any questions about the journey so far and what he feels are the successes and downfalls he'd advise you to be aware of.
  • Hear about an exciting new project coming soon to Staffordshire that supports micro providers - local people setting up small (micro) businesses that can provide local services for people who need some help and support, and discover how you can be involved.
  • Talk to Support Staffordshire or Business Enterprise support representatives for advice and guidance on the first steps.
  • Network with fellow start-ups or care organisations to foster future working relationships.
  • Discover what is involved in running a community project, social enterprise or commercial business/self-employment and which option is right for you.

Arrival from 1.45 for Coffee & networking. The event starts at 2 pm prompt.

Some parking is available at the Library. Car sharing may be feasible if you are travelling from other areas of Staffordshire, contact Sarah Roberts at Support Staffordshire to find out who may be driving from your location.
