Join the MSOE Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) for a free, fun, and informative STEM family night for high school students and their parents/guardians!
Feeling unsure about the road to college? This event is designed to help families feel prepared and confident about the path to college and STEM careers. Together, you'll:
Learn about the FAFSA: parents will learn more about how to complete it
Explore colleges as a team: strategies for finding and choosing the right fit
Meet SHPE and SHPE Jr.: connect with a supportive STEM community and learn about future educational and career opportunities
Try Electrical Engineering: get an introduction to the field with a hands-on circuit board activity (this month's featured STEM path)
Enjoy some food and connect with other students and families who share an interest in STEM!
This event is hosted by the MSOE Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers student organization.
FAQs
- May I drop my student off from the street / sidewalk near the Center?
Families should walk-in to check-in their students. Students cannot be dropped off more than 10 minutes before program start and must be picked up within 10 minutes of the program end time. Children not in a program must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- How do I get to your facility?
We are located at 1444 N Water Street on the MSOE campus. A map and parking information will be sent to all families at least one week prior to your program start date to the email used for registration.
- My student has accommodations I'd like to discuss - who do I contact?
This program is run by MSOE students and not STEM Center staff members.
Families know their students best and information you share helps our staff best support your students learning and participation in MSOE programs.We ask families to share any information when registering that helps us support learning, behavior, communication or sensory needs. We aim to create a learning environment that is inclusive to all students and this information will help us better understand if we can ensure your student has a great learning experience.
A fundamental learning outcome of nearly all STEM programs includes working in teams to solve problems. With few exceptions, we are unable to accommodate students who wish or need to work independently.

- Are parents or guardians required to attend?
Students may come with or without their parent or guardian. This event is designed to help provide information to parents support their students as they explore careers and college. As a result, parent participation is highly encouraged!
