CALHN EMET - Berri - Functional Neurological Disorders - Virtual Event

Functional Neurological Disorders are a group of surprisingly common and sometimes underdiagnosed conditions presenting to GPs and Emergency Departments. Often these patients are frequent presenters to their healthcare providers and the inability to come up with a clear diagnosis is frustrating for both the clinician and patient and can lead to investigations and treatment that at best are unnecessary and at worst are harmful. If identified early and managed appropriately the trajectory of these patients can be significantly changed. This talk will cover this intriguing area of medicine and will focus on one of the presentations of FND that many of us are familiar with - psychogenic seizures.
