Creating a Carer Aware General Practice Setting

This is a tailored session for staff working within GP settings across South Australia.

Carers supporting family and friends living with disability, mental ill health, chronic health conditions, frailty due to age or a life limiting illness, play an essential role in supporting patient health. however many do not identify themselves as Carers or seek available support.

General practice teams are well placed to recognise Carers through routine patient interactions and provide early support, information and referrals.

By attending this webinar, participants will:

• Understand how Carer identification and engagement with Carers in GP settings can lead to better health outcomes for both the Carer and patients

• Identify a diverse range of Carers within general practice settings​
