Community Climate Skills - Tamworth
Event description
This interactive workshop aims to find out from community and voluntary groups what knowledge and skills you need to take more effective action for the environment, or to improve sustainability within your organisation and community.Â
We will be asking questions to understand your aims around improving sustainability in your group or supporting your local environment, and to find out what skills, training or knowledge opportunities you wish to see in Staffordshire that would help you achieve these aims.Â
After these workshops we will be creating some resources based on what we learn, so taking part in these workshops will really help to develop useful courses or information for all community groups thinking about sustainability/environmental issues.
When we say 'improving sustainability' and 'acting for the environment', this could include: educating young people about climate change, helping local wildlife, improving travel and transport opportunities, energy efficiency, reducing waste, growing and cooking healthy food, accessing and exploring your local environment, running sustainable events and activities and much more.Â
We would also like to hear from groups who are not primarily focussed on the environment or sustainability to find out what help you need to think about these issues alongside your groups' main aims.
So come along to tell us: what training or information do you wish existed in Staffordshire that would help you improve the work that you do to make a happier, healthier Staffordshire?
These workshops will be repeated in Stafford, Staffordshire Moorlands, South Staffordshire and online, feel free to attend the best date and location for you.
This project is run by Support Staffordshire and Keele University as part of the Staffordshire Green Network, funded by the Keele Institute for Social Inclusion.
