Develop life and social skills with this performance workshop. Each student will have a personalised program to improve important areas in their life and talents.
Learn to: Plan and manage life. Work as a team. Present with confidence. Perform for an audience. Improve mood and focus. Manage social media and events. Write. Speak. Play. Set goals and have fun.
About the teacher: Shauny Scanlon.
With 30 years experience as an education specialist for people with learning disabilities, Shauny has developed his own unique method to bring out the best in each and every student. He has authored many text books and created software and audio programs for self development, motivation, relaxation and meditation. He has lectured in many countries to more than 3 million teachers and students.
About the program:
Theme: Journey To Joy 2025. (Ages 10+)
Each student will be assessed to see which skills they would like to develop and they will create a plan to write and perform their own presentation. They will follow a theme and work in a team to present a collective performance at the end of the program. Classes go for 2 hours per week.
The first 30 minutes is a FREE introduction. Tickets available here.
$350 for 10 weeks ($17.50 per hour.)
Parents will be invited to watch the final performance for free, but must book tickets as spaces are limited. Recording devices not permitted. Parents will be invited to join a private social media group to view videos and receive updates on students progress.
BANDCAMP is an acronym for the following:
Breathing
Various breathing techniques for focus, energy,
blood flow, increased performance, relaxation,
physical fitness and voice projection.
Acting
Creating, remembering and performing songs,
dialogues and movement, within a team, helps
improve confidence, health and cognition.
Narration
For shy students not yet ready for the stage
they will narrate from the sidelines to help
develop confidence and public speaking skills.
Dancing
Dancing helps physical fitness for health and
sports performance. Students with a passion
for dance will showcase their talents and choreography.
Chanting
Chanting affirmations helps to develop the
lungs and vocals. This is done as a
regular warm up before all sessions.
Affirmations
Students are encouraged to write and chant
their own positive affirmations relative to
areas of life they feel they can improve
Meditation
Meditation has been shown in scientific studies
to increase memory, focus, intelligence and lifespan.
This is a secular practice done as a warm up.
Performance
Students will perform solo or in a group according
to their personal needs. All students will perform at
the end of the ten weeks to a live audience.
