    Event description

In spite of the efforts made through employee recognition programs, many workplaces continue to struggle with poor morale and high turnover. The additional challenges of remote and hybrid employees, virtual teams, and the shortage of available employees create additional stress.  Leaders become frustrated, not knowing how to support and encourage their staff. Discover the difference between “going through the motions” recognition and authentic appreciation and how to apply the 5 languages of appreciation to daily work life.  Utilizing humor and real-life stories Dr. White will share common misconceptions leaders often have about appreciation, and will introduce practical tools that will empower you to encourage your team members in the ways that are meaningful to each person. As a result of participating, attendees will be able to:

    • Identify the primary difference between traditional employee recognition and authentic appreciation.
    • Describe the importance of appreciation in the workplace including the negative impact on an organization when staff don’t feel valued.
    • Recount the 5 languages of appreciation and give examples of what they look like in daily work life.
    • Address the challenges of showing appreciation to remote and hybrid employees.
    • Access practical tools and resources that can be used to “hit the mark” in effectively communicating appreciation to team members.
