EMERGING CONCERT ARTIST SERIES

Exceptional Young Artists Sharing the Joy of Music

A program rich with favourite composers from the polyphony of J.S. Bach and classical charm of J. Haydn through to the romantic voices of F. Chopin, A. Scriabin and I. Albeniz; and moving forward into the twentieth-century with C. Debussy & S. Rachmaninov.

Xingyao (Elsa) Lee, 13, studies in the Rising Stars program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studies with Natalia Ricci. In 2023, Elsa participated in the Sydney International Piano Competition Showcase. She has also been successful in national and international competitions in recent years. We are delighted to welcome back; she performed in our first ECAS in 2022. Elsa performs works by: J. Haydn, F. Chopin, J.S.Bach, P. Constantinescu, L.van Beethoven, Cécile Chaminade.

Lucas Wang is a student of Natalia Ricci, also studying in the Rising Stars program. He is the recipient of the Kathleen Holmes McCrea Pianoforte Scholarship. Lucas has enjoyed success on numerous occasions in the Sydney and Inner West Eisteddfods. Lucas has also busked on the streets playing the Hulusi, aChinese wind instrument. Lucas performs works by: J.S. Bach, Scriabin, I. Albeniz, encore: Rachmaninoff

EMERGING CONCERT ARTISTS

Musicians are storytellers, and music is their language. Join us on the first Thursday of each month for a memorable musical experience with some of Australia's leading young performers. Wollongong Art Gallery hosts the concert as part of its Public Program.  Visit the Gallery and view their latest exhibitions and hear a concert! Entry is by donation. 

We pay our respect to the Traditional Custodians, their Ancestors who cared for this Country for many thousands of years, and their Elders and descendants who continue to care for the Country. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
