Event description

Expressive Charcoal & Ink Drawing Workshop

Join me for a full-day charcoal and ink drawing workshop, where all materials are provided—just show up, experiment, and discover new ways to approach drawing. This workshop is designed to be both fun and inspiring, pushing you in new directions while expanding your skills in mark-making, composition, and expressive techniques.

Throughout the day, we’ll explore a range of subjects—from figurative drawing to birds, buildings, and abstract mark-making. You’ll start with a series of guided exercises to help you see and think about drawing in fresh ways. We’ll work with both compressed and willow charcoal, as well as ink, discovering their unique qualities and how they can be used together for dramatic, expressive effects. You’ll learn key techniques related to line, tone, composition, and creative development, with an emphasis on spontaneity and freedom in mark-making.

The workshop takes place in a comfortable, air-conditioned studio in North Sydney, with free parking available onsite. You’ll receive an email the week before with directions and other helpful details to ensure you have an enjoyable experience.

This workshop is open to all skill levels—whether you’re a beginner or more experienced, you’ll find plenty to inspire and challenge you.

⭐ Included: A premium charcoal kit (valued at over $50) with high-quality materials to take home.
