Event description

Sculpt and Shoot: Still Life Workshop with Sherry Quiambao

Join local photomedia artist Sherry Quiambao for a fun and creative workshop that brings still-life photography to life through the art of assemblage. Designed for all levels in photography, this workshop will guide you in creating and photographing ephemeral sculptures, using everyday objects, household items, pantry and/or other food items, and a personal object that holds meaning for you.

Learn to see ordinary objects in a new way and transform them into compelling still life compositions that resonate with feelings of longing and connection.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the techniques and concepts behind her artistic process. Throughout the workshop, participants will explore concepts of composition, lighting, and colour to elevate their photography and create visually compelling sculptures.

Sherry will also give a short overview of her own practice, sharing her insights and recent work in photomedia from her exhibition 'Veiled in a Golden Hue' at Goolugatup Heathcote 10 Aug - 22 Sept 2024.

By the end of the session, participants will have created and photographed their own unique photographic sculpture/s that tell a story of personal longing and connection. Feel free to bring your own object(s) from home, or embellishments to personalise your work.

Date and Time:
