Did you know that women with disability experience domestic partner violence (29%) at twice the rate of women without disability (14.4%)? (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2016)

This workshop is for workers in the FDV sector. If you work in the Disability sector, please visit a workshop named - For Disability workers: Family & Domestic Violence and Disability.

This free three-hour workshop, facilitated by the Patricia Giles Centre for Non-Violence, is aimed at workers in the FDV sector. It focuses on increasing the confidence and capacity of the sector to support positive outcomes for people with disability experiencing violence.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Understanding the intersection of FDV and disability
  • Recognising the unique ways people with disability experience violence
  • Identifying barriers faced by people with disability in accessing FDV services
  • Learning how to modify service delivery to better meet the needs of people with disability
  • Exploring effective referral pathways and resources

This workshop is open to all professionals working in the FDV sector including FDV support workers, case workers, therapeutic workers and more.
