Hip Bag - School Holiday Sewing Class
Description
Participants will learn basic sewing skills, working with patterns and following instructions to create a upcycled denim hip bag from jeans that have been saved from landfill.
Hibiscus Coast Zero Waste collects a number of clothing items from local opshops that would have gone to landfill. The hope is that we can save as many items of clothing from landfill and teach our young adults how to repurpose and or repair these items.
This workshop is ideal for young adults and teens. Participants must be able to follow instructions; no sewing experience is necessary however a willingness to learn is key.
Please bring a packed lunch and snacks and water bottle.
This workshop will be held in a space in Whangaparaoa, Guides Hall, 45 Stanmore Bay Road
A massive thanks to Auckland Council for their support towards these workshops!
