Event description

How AI is enhancing our understanding of pedestrian safety - the PedSAT model

Join us for an exclusive lunchtime webinar outlining the Pedestrian Safety Assessment Tool (PedSAT) – a groundbreaking AI model designed to assess pedestrian safety and identify high-risk areas in urban environments.

PedSAT uses advanced AI techniques and real-world accident data to determine the likelihood of fatal and serious injuries to pedestrians. It assigns a risk rating to road points and links, provides evidence-based recommendations for pedestrian safety improvements, and assesses the impact of implemented treatments.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How PedSAT analyses pedestrian accident data to identify risk hotspots
  • The key environmental and road factors contributing to pedestrian safety risks
  • How councils, planners, and transport agencies are using PedSAT to guide safety improvements - and apply for road safety funding
  • Applications of PedSAT across NSW

This session will be hosted by Nick Fletcher, Sara Stace, Marc Lane and Lyndon Pereira.

We welcome an interactive discussion – bring your questions, ideas, and feedback.
