Event description

Let's celebrate spring with some beautiful botanical handmade paper!

This workshop is perfect for beginners, but also open to more experienced papermakers who want to add some botanicals to their stash.

We will be using recycled paper pulp, primarily wood and cotton fibers, along with flower inclusions to create lovely 5x7" handmade papers, perfect for cards and invitations. We'll focus on Western-style papermaking using a mould and deckle. While we'll discuss the basics of making paper at home, this workshop is less "how-to" and more about experimenting with botanical inclusions. We regularly offer general beginner handmade paper classes - if you don't see one on the calendar, let us know you're interested! **The paper will not be ready to take home that day. Participants can arrange a pickup time or to have their paper shipped for an additional fee.

All materials are included, but you are welcome to bring your own flowers (fresh, dried, or pressed) to experiment with.

Making handmade paper is a relaxing process, but be prepared to have your hands in water for most of the session. Dress appropriately for getting a bit wet. Also, while the paper sizes we'll be working with don't require a lot of physical exertion, please expect to spend some time on your feet. If you need any accommodations around standing for long periods, crouching, or kneeling, we're happy to work with you to make sure you have a safe, positive experience.

This class is open to participants ages 13+. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A WAIVER ON FILE. We will have hard copies avialable on site. Please also refer to our parking and accessibility information.
