Event description

Overview:
The one-day ‘Leading a Lived Experience Workforce’ program is designed to equip leaders with the tools, knowledge and confidence to recruit, lead and retain a Lived Experience (LE) workforce. The course provides a safe space for learning, sharing ideas, and discussing strategies to support and embed the Lived Experience culture within organisations, leading to a sustainable and thriving workforce. The course has been developed through a co-design approach with people with lived experience, current Peer Workers and leaders of a Lived Experience workforce in collaboration with the LEx Training Hub’s Course Advisory Group.

Who can benefit from the Leading a Lived Experience Workforce course?

  • Current leaders of Lived Experienced workers to refresh their skills or gain a new perspective on their practice
  • People who are working towards (in conjunction with their organisation) a role of leading Lived Experience workers
  • Aspiring leaders or experienced Peer Workers who want to gain foundational knowledge and skills in taking the steps to lead Lived Experience workers

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the value and unique contributions of Lived Experience workers, as well as address integration challenges.
  • Implement best practices for recruiting, onboarding, and supporting LE workers.
  • Confidently lead and develop LE workers, promoting ongoing growth and retention.
  • Develop actionable strategies to embed LE roles sustainably within their organisation.
