Little Bee Keepers - a child centred introduction to the world of honeybees
Event description
This fun, practical workshop is designed for children aged 8+ who are curious about these incredible insects and may want to start beekeeping.
Children, accompanied by their parent or guardian will spend an afternoon with Black Barn Farm’s beekeeper Michelle.
We will explore the fascinating life of bees, their behaviour, the vital role they play in pollination and learn the basics of beekeeping before putting on our bee suits and inspecting a hive together.
After our hive inspection there will be plenty of time for questions while we crush and strain some honey together ready for you to take home.
