    Event description

    Join us for an exclusive geology & mineralogy tour to 3 of our local resource mines in the Ravensthorpe Shire. Learn about the correlation between plants and the geology of the area in which they grow.

    Visit 3 mining tenements, Galaxy lithium mine, Ravensthorpe Nickel mine currently in Care & Maintenace and explorative Gold tenement that is developing in the region. A geologist (or mining person) from each site will be present at each location we visit. The tour will take in the viewing of the working Galaxy Lithium mine. 

    The first stop is to the Galaxy lithium mine owned by Arcadium Lithium where we will be greeted and given a quick tour, the tour and learn about the operations what they mine and how it used.

    We then travel from Galaxy in Ravensthorpe to the FQM Australia Nickel owned  Ravensthorpe Nickel Operations, on the way we will view of conveyor overpass which has public artworks "The Honeyeaters" painted by Amok Island . 

    Weather permitting we will visit a historic site located in the Kundip area where Medallion Metals have been exploring the options of renewing the gold extraction in the area. If the weather is too wet for Kundip we have an alternative up our sleeve.We then return to Ravensthorpe Town Hall

    Where to meet: Ravensthorpe Town Hall 35 Dunn Street Ravensthorpe.

    Time: 9am start the bus will return to the town hall at 2 - 2:30pm 

    What to bring: Hat, sunscreen, covered shoes are essential, dress for all weather,  water, snacks & lunch to eat at Jerdacuttup Hall.

     Lunch time will be spent at the Jerdacuttup Hall
