Event description

Samhain

As the wheel turns and we meet the threshold of Samhain, we are invited into sacred remembrance with the last of our three harvest festivals

Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival of reverence and ritual. It is a time when the veils between worlds grow thin, when the whispers of those who walked before us can be heard more clearly, and when the presence of our ancestors—blood, bone, and spirit—feels close at hand. It is a time to honour our beloved dead, create an altar for them, share stories, and remember those who walked before us.

For those navigating grief and loss, this time of year can feel tender and immense — and yet, through the ancient rituals of Samhain, we are offered a beautiful way to remember, to honour, and to keep the stories of our loved ones alive. In doing so, this festival can once again become a meaningful tradition for families and communities to carry forward with reverence and love.

To honour our ancestors is to acknowledge the lineage of lives, choices, and experiences that made our own existence possible. It is a way of tending the roots of our being — offering gratitude, healing intergenerational wounds, and drawing strength from the wisdom that came before us. When we speak their names, light a candle in their memory, or place something sacred on the altar, we affirm that they are not forgotten. In remembering them, we remember ourselves more fully — not as isolated individuals, but as part of a vast and continuing story.

So come gather with us to honour our ancestors and beloved dead, listen for the quiet stories that live in our bones, and create space for ourselves to open to the unseen threads that connect us across time.
