1918
wreaks havoc by time tripping back & forth across that date marking the fall of the Austro-Hugarian Empire and the end of music's common practice era. It begins with a minimalist texture that undergoes various Brahmsian technical devices from op.15 and 114. More on the Anderson website -- www.williamanderson.us

Shinhee Park's Red Sunset is based on the poem “Concert of Nature” by Soon-yi Huang, depicting a “world piling into darkness” from red twilight.

Robert Pollock's Burlesque was composed at the request of William Anderson. It is a rollicking piece that features jesting gestures such as wide-ranging glissandi, accelerating repetitions, and rapid riffs.

Sung hee Joo’s clarinet piece is based on the poem A Night of Counting Stars by Dong Ju Yoon, reflecting reminiscence and memory, loneliness and longing, and hope from the poem.

Juhyung Kim’s clarinet solo comes from the poem Spirit-Filed Buds by Sang Ku, singing the infinity inherent in sprouts.

Veritas Musicae, which aims to achieve the "pure artistic spirit," is an organization of about 120 composers and theorists founded in 1984, focused on composing, performing, and scholarly activities for over 40 years. (www.vmus.org)

(vmus.org
