Redwood Ridge Campground Opening - Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail

The CVWWT committee would like to invite you to join us celebrate the start of the hiking season with the opening of our first
campground, ‘Redwood Ridge’, located on stage 2 of the CVWWT.
Redwood Ridge is located on private property adjacent to Spring Gully Conservation Park, at an elevation of 560m it is amoung the highest parts of the Clare Valley region.
Saturday 10th May
• 10am - Meet at Jim Barry Wines for start of hike.
• 15km – Hike through Bourke and Travers, Sussex Squire,
Eldredges and some brand new sections of the Trail to
Stringybark Ridge campsite.
• After the hike, climb the small hill to ‘the Top’ for a BBQ,
refreshments and stunning views overlooking the valley to
the east.
• 3pm - Official opening with by a mystery guest...(!)
• $10 donation to help cover the cost of the BBQ.
• BYO drinks, chairs, tent/swag.
• Overnight – at Redwood Ridge for those who are keen
will ‘road test’ the new campsite that evening.
Sunday 11th May
• 7:30am - Campers roll down the hill and through Jeanneret to
Skillogalee where they meet the Sunday day-hikers.
• 8am - 9am - Breakfast at Skillogalee (coffee and bacon and
egg rolls).
• 4km - Hike through Mitchells to Kilikanoon, then optional Mt
Oakden climb via the Spur Trail.
• Official wind up.
