Nemesis - A Rollocking, Hi-Octane Cyberpunk Action Frenzy!
Event description
A rollocking, hi-octane cyberpunk action frenzy, Nemesis harkens back to a time where budgets were low, plots were thin and explosions were MASSIVE.
Set in the far off future of (*dramatic pause*) 2027, Nemesis stars Oliver Grune - a French kickboxer who is the guy you get when Jean-Claude Van Damme has passed out in a pile of coke - in a world of “bio-enhanced gangsters, information terrorists and cyborg outlaws.” He's a cybernetic cop who's been killed and rebuilt more times than he's had hot dinners.
And he's not the only thing built from the parts of others - this entire movie is a pastiche of every sci-fi and action hit of the 80's. It should be forgettable disaster, but legendary low budget action director Albert Pyun has a knack for spinning cheap dross into high concept gold and Nemesis is no exception. It's a world where everything can explode, every problem can be solved by gunfire and everyone wears sunglasses and long coats ALL THE TIME. It is a glorious thrill ride that proves that whenever God closes a door, you can just blast through the wall with a machine gun.
