Sharing digital image collections: A workshop on the International Image Interoperability Framework
Event description
Join us for a special half-day event that brings together Australia’s museum, library, archive, and technology communities to explore the challenges of sharing digital image collections, and the value of the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF).
Whether you’re completely new to the Framework or already experimenting with it, this is a chance to:
Learn more about what the Framework is and how it works;
Hear about examples of how the Framework is being used in Australia and around the world to improve access to collections of images, manuscripts, and media.
Connect with local peers who are working on digital access in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums.
If you’ve ever wondered how to share and reuse your institution’s images more effectively, or how to unlock new possibilities for digital collections, this event is for you. We’ll also be discussing the creation of an IIIF Australia Regional Group to strengthen inter-institution collaboration across the country.
Who Should Attend?
Anyone curious about the Framework and its potential.
Professionals from museums, libraries, archives, and galleries.
Technical specialists ready to take digital collections to the next level.
Those who have implemented IIIF — and those who are just getting started.
No prior experience required — we’ll take you from the fundamentals to exciting showcases of the newest IIIF innovations.
Presented by the IIIF Consortium and The Power Institute at the University of Sydney.
