Event description
UPDATE: This event has changed to 8th, 15th, 22nd September. All tickets remain valid, and you don't need to register again.
Our World Beyond Covid - Conversations around Culture is a three-part series that will focus on how we can build collective resilience and connection in our communities, so that we can access a spirit of ‘disaster collectivism’ when we need it.
The aim of these workshops is to create a practical 'toolkit' of things people can do, right now, to answer the question "what can we do to help?"
Workshop 1 - Ourselves and Purpose - We need to take care of our own mental and physical wellbeing in order to be able to contribute to wider struggles. We'll look at:
- Our inner landscape
- Different tools and techniques to help us care for ourselves
- Finding and fulfilling our purpose
Workshop 2 - Our Communities and Connection - Building connections with others is vital. We'll discuss:
- mutual aid networks
- ideas for community projects
- how to share resources
- grassroots activist groups.
Workshop 3 - Our World and Humanity - Many problems are rooted in systemic and institutional oppression that affect people on a global scale. We will look at :
- building solidarity
- learning from indigenous direct action
- how we can start to decolonise activism.
