Workshop - How to Work with an Editor and Why you should
Description
An editor’s job is to remain invisible while helping you and your writing to shine.
Join professional editor, Roslyn Copas AE, in a practical small-group workshop to demystify the editing process, and answer your questions about how it can help you to polish your writing projects. If you’ve ever wondered how working with an editor could be useful to you, here is a chance to learn about the different types of editing, and how to negotiate for only what you need, brief an editor, make editing agreements, and work with an editor in ways to ensure you stay in control of your story.
Roslyn Copas has been a professional editor for over 30 years. She is a long-time member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd), Queensland Writers Centre, and Plain Language International. She also holds a Master of Arts in Writing, Editing and Publishing, and has maintained IPEd Accredited Editor (AE) status since 2008. Roslyn specialises in supporting teams writing publications for Asia-Pacific aid and development programs, and she has also assisted authors of diverse works of local history, memoir, children’s fiction, and professional and personal development. She is dedicated to making the editing process a reassuring and empowering experience for writers.
