🥦 Grow Tropical Vegetables in a Food Forest Garden

Tropical vegetables are ideal in your hot dry/wet climate. You can grow many of your favourite vegetables through most of the year but when the summer heat strikes, most of our plants just seem to wilt away. But this is when we can have abundant yields from sweet potatoes, Cassava, Taro, Cocoyams and so many more!

Topics:

  • 🥦 Tropical vegetables
  • 🥦 Support plants
  • 🥦 Food forest gardening intro
  • 🥦 Permaculture solutions for edible landscapes

🥦 Seed Saving course
 - 2hours

Learn about correct seed saving practices from your garden. Seed saving networks will be                                                        discussed and hopefully established, and also reasons why we need to learn to save our own seeds. Some seeds brought from Australia will be distributed to the hosts to grow on and pass seeds onto others.

🥦 Building Dynamic Living Soil- 2 hours

Learn to understand your garden soil type with this in depth analyses of the compostion and life in the soil. Bring some soil samples along to test in class. The soil is the stomach for the plants and this short two hour course will help to build living dynamic soil for healthy resilient vegetables in your garden.

Bring your own food and drinks for the day and paper and pen for note taking.                                                                          Electronic information on the lessons are available on request in PDF format.
