The Limestone Coast Landscape Board is encouraging landholders to protect endangered Southern brown bandicoots in targeted locations in the Limestone Coast.

The Southern brown bandicoot (Isoodon obesulus ) is a threatened marsupial that plays an important ecological role by digging and turning soil, dispersing fungi and seeds, and enhancing nutrient cycling. Populations are highly vulnerable to predation by foxes and feral cats.
