Travel instructions

For the best & most relaxed rainforest experience we suggest arriving at Daintree Siesta the night before and departing at least the day after your Rainforest Connections Walk. We have both air-conditioned motel style rooms and campground options available. One of our rooms has an accessible bathroom. All participants will self-drive to Daintree Siesta. We are located approximately 30 minutes drive north of the Daintree River Car Ferry and 30 minutes south of Cape Tribulation. It is a scenic 2.5 hour drive north of Cairns, or 1 hour 15 minutes from Port Douglas, on fully sealed roads via the Daintree River Car Ferry.

Entry instructions

Park in the carpark which is right outside our meeting point at Daintree Siesta reception.

After entry instructions

Please arrive at reception 15 minutes prior to walk commencement.

Hazards

This walk takes place on our natural walking tracks. These tracks have uneven surfaces and may be muddy (depending on the weather). If you have specific accessibility requirements please contact us to discuss. In many cases we can adapt the walk to particular needs but ask to discuss prior how we may best meet your needs.

Toilet location

Please contact us to discuss if accessible toilets are required as we do not currently have these facilities available in our reception area. Depending on requirements we may still be able to assist. For those who book accommodation with us we have one motel-style room equipped with an accessible bathroom.

Accessible parking

Please contact us if accessible parking options are required as depending on requirements this may impact how we plan the walk. For those staying - our rooms have parking right at the door. We have a slight ramp at reception and there are some steps to the interior.
