MATES Respond Training

Join us for a free half-day Respond workshop delivered by MATES in Construction NSW.

Respond is available to people who have already completed MATES Connector and ASIST training. This workshop prepares volunteers to help guide their workplace following a death or critical incident, providing leadership and support while broader connections and supports are put in place.

Workshop Details

Date & Time: 8:30am start, approximately 4 hours (including breaks)

Cost: Free

Attire: Casual office wear

Food: Light refreshments provided

Parking: Street parking or Officeworks car park

Public Transport: Buses from Central Station

Respond Volunteers are easy to identify on site by their orange MATES sticker.

What is a Respond Volunteer?

A Respond Volunteer:

• Has completed both MATES Connector and ASIST training

• Helps guide the workplace following a death or critical incident

• Assists site leaders during the initial response

• Helps connect the site with the appropriate supports

• Supports the workplace until broader connections and supports are in place

Respond focuses on three key areas

1. Connecting with the event

2. Understanding the event

3. Assisting workers on site

Important Information

• Participants must have completed MATES Connector or ASIST training.

• Limited to 30 participants, first come, first served.

• MATES in Construction NSW reserves the right to cancel the workshop if minimum numbers are not met.
