Safety and Suicide Intervention Training (SSIT) is an education package designed to support clinicians who work with consumers experiencing acute suicidal crisis. It combines evidence-based approaches to screening and assessment, formulation, safety planning, lethal means restriction and consumer and carer education. This workshop is aimed at those who work alongside consumers and carers and whom provide professional support, counselling and therapy in primary care settings.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Participant will be able to utilise evidence-based assessment, formulation and safety planning approaches;
2. Participants report increased understanding of managing suicidal crisis;
3. Participants identify strategies for self-care when managing persons in suicidal crisis.
