Event description

Do you have lots of scraps of woven cotton fabric that you want to keep out of landfill?  Come to this workshop and learn two different ways to join all the small pieces together to make a new piece of fabric.   Following the workshop you can use your new piece of scrappy fabric to make something.

About the instructor:
Tiffany Westphal and her sister used to run a small business called Adore the Cloth.  While her sister made children's clothes under the label Adore the Cloth, Tiffany created things from the textile waste under the label "Adore the Cloth 2nd Cut".  Tiffany loves the creative challenge of finding solutions for problems.  She's now working as a social worker (solving social problems) but still enjoys sharing a diverse range of textile skills with others.

Prerequisite:
You must have basic sewing machine skills.  (Tiffany will not be able to teach you how to use a sewing machine during this workshop.)

What to bring:

A fabric scissors
Threads
Fabric scraps (woven cotton)
A sewing machine
sewing pins.

Tiffany will bring fabric scraps from her collection to share.  So no need to opt out because you cleaned up after your last project and don't have any scraps to bring.

We do have some sewing machines available if you are not able to bring your own. If you require a sewing machine on the day, please indicate when booking your ticket.
