Sea Kayaking at Malabar Beach (six session times)
Event description
Have fun learning the latest paddling techniques from expert Paddle Australia guide Sam McLeod as you explore the stunning coastline and tranquil waters around Malabar Beach.
This activity requires a parent or adult guardian to accompany each child under 13 years in the double kayaks.
Sea kayaking requires some physical challenges, including paddling for extended periods. Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 50 metres.
Meet the group on the grassed area near the change rooms at the top of Malabar Beach, off Fishermans Road, Malabar. Maximum 18 people per session time.Â
Conditions of booking
- Minimum age 8 years
- Participants must be able to swim a minimum of 50 metres
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
- AÂ parent or adult guardian to accompany each child under 13 years in the double kayaks
- All participants need to pay
- Refunds provided up to 48hrs prior to the event start time.
Your guide, Ian (Sam) McLeod began competing in white-water slalom paddling and progressed to canoe polo, in which he has represented Australia.
A Paddle Australia certified guide, Sam has been professionally guiding since 2004 and has helped countless people experience the beautiful waters of New South Wales.
Photographs, videos and voice recordings
Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:
- educational or community information purpose
- Council displays and promotions of community education events
- to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.
If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.
Cancellation conditions
This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the January 2025 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program, but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities up to 48 hours prior to the activity start and in the event of cancellation by Randwick City Council.
