Stage Our Play; The Chapel, The Fire, The Dead Cat - Year 9-12
Event description
Join us for a week as you work towards performing one of ATYP’s Foundation Commission plays, The Chapel, The Fire, and The Dead Cat, by Madeleine Nunn.
Smoke and ash. Wood and earth. You smelt it before you saw it. When the cursed Chapel on the hill burns to the ground, the authorities have some questions. Their suspects: the high school students seen there that night. An Act of Terror? Work of the divine? Or merely an accident?
Students will be given the full theatrical rehearsal experience in just one week. They’ll work with a professional director as they take on scene analysis, character development, components of blocking and understanding the simplicity of learning lines. At the end of the week, students will share a performance of selected scenes from the play with family and friends.
ATYP school holiday workshops encourage and engage young people from Kindergarten to Year 12. Participants will make new friends, learn about performing, gain confidence and most importantly have a ton of fun in a safe and inspiring environment.
