Not every moment asks us to pause, but magic moments do. They arrive softly, yet linger long after-reminding us of life's beauty, connection and possibility
What is special about our final event for 2025?
We invite you to bring some more magic to the night by wearing something RED
We have an artist who will paint and auction her work for charity. The charity choice is in the hands of the highest bidder (costs of the equipment will be reimbursed to the artist- all profits to the chosen Charity.
There are 5 storytellers and 1 musician to allow time for the auction.
Magic Moments is a celebration of another successful year of storytelling, of bringing together this community at Bucketty's Brewery.

The ancient art of storytelling comes to life as six storytellers from diverse walks of life take the stage to share true, deeply personal stories. Set in the warm and friendly atmosphere of Bucketty’s Brewing Co. Brookvale, this unique event invites you to relax with a beer, enjoy a meal, and connect with your community. Expect laughter, drama, and maybe even a few tears as you experience an evening of real stories that entertain, inspire, and bring people together here on the Northern Beaches.

Meet the Storytellers and our special guest musician.
Sarah Rowan (first appearance at Story Room Global)
Artist Sarah Rowan is Australia’s First Keynote Speaker + Speed Painter — one of the most electrifying creative voices on the global stage. With over 600 events to date, Rowan transforms conferences, workplaces, and communities through the fusion of art and storytelling, creating unforgettable moments that inspire connection, courage, and innovation.
A 16-time business finalist, Rowan was recently named Winner of Creative Service of the Year at the Roar Awards 2025 and received the Lord Mayor Award for Arts & Cultural Achievement in the Wollongong Awards 2025. She is also the author of The Creativity Cycle: 7 Simple Steps to Bring Ideas to Life, a practical guide that helps people move ideas from imagination into action.
Rowan’s mission is simple but powerful: to reignite creativity as a force for resilience, innovation, and human connection. Whether she’s painting a five-minute masterpiece live on stage, leading a team through a creativity workshop, or sharing her own story of courage and reinvention, she brings an energy that is equal parts inspiring, heartfelt, and hilariously human (holy shitballs moments guaranteed).
Her work has inspired corporate leaders battling burnout, educators sparking curiosity in students, and communities hungry for connection. Rowan’s blend of art and storytelling doesn’t just entertain — it transforms.
Nick Howard - Musician
Nick Howard is an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer, and music executive with a career spanning over three decades. Signed to BMG Records Australia in 1993, he also secured deals with Arista UK (under Simon Cowell) and Ariola Germany, along with a publishing contract with BMG. His debut album Sound of Breathing was recorded across New York, Los Angeles, and London, featuring collaborations with industry legends like Tommy Faragher, Phil Harding, and Robbie Nevil. The album produced three singles, including the Top 40 hit Who Fell in Love.
Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, Nick expanded into artist development, founding RnB Music Pty Ltd and later Tonic Music Productions with New York producer Tommy Faragher. His work led to major successes, including writing and producing Down for Bardot’s No.1 debut album and Perdi Voce, a chart-topping hit in Brazil. He also collaborated with artists such as Delta Goodrem, Sophie Monk, and Selwyn.
Tim Hewson
Tim is a passionate mental health advocate, educator and Manbassador for men’s mental health on a mission to create mentally healthier workplaces, communities and humans.
In 2021, he founded Mongrels Men, an award-winning community-based mental health charity that equips men with the tools, support, and confidence to take control of their mental health and help prevent suicide.
He motivates thousands of men to get outdoors, move, connect and form new social and support networks with other men in their local community every year.
After spending nearly three decades in Banking and Finance, he decided to combine his experience in corporate environments with his passion for improving the mental of Australians and started Betterment Consulting to help improve mental health in the workplace.
Tim is committed to breaking down the negative stigma surrounding mental health by giving it a face
and a voice. His work encourages everyone to build a ‘brave space’—a place to connect, feel supported and have more meaningful conversations.
Since launching Mongrels Men in 2021, Tim has won several awards for his work in the mental health space:
- 2020: 'Community Champion Award', ING Bank Australia
- 2021: 'Local Legend', Australian Men's Health Forum
- 2022: Local Legend Award', LG Electronics
- 2033: 'Local Hero', Westfield (Scentre Group)
- 2024: 'Outstanding Achievement in Mental Health Promotion', Wayahead Foundation
Tim has also received Community Recognition in NSW Parliament for his contribution to improving men's mental health.
Tim is the proud father of three spirited teenagers as well as a semi-proficient, non-professional, middle-aged footballer.
Christine Greenough
Christine Greenough is an accredited professional Stand Up Storyteller with over 50 years of experience performing for children and adults in schools, libraries, and international festivals across Australia, Singapore, and the USA; she co-founded the storytelling company "The Talespinners," which operated from 1997 to 2016, and now works solo delivering performances that engage and inspire audiences and conducts storytelling workshops and personal story development.
John Milham
John Milham has spent most of his life on the Northern Beaches and had a mission once upon a time to know every person on the beaches (he is not there yet but still has hope). Having a comfortable corporate career, a tick box life as a community member, Husband, Father, and the blessings of a beaches lifestyle, all went up in smoke in the chaos of his wife’s Cancer diagnosis and then passing away 12 months later. John struggled to find a way to raise 3 young kids, make a living and try to sort out the mess of loss, grief, tragedy and trauma. Doing this unexpectantly saw him became a different person with a new purpose.
Now with grown kids and his Lived Experience to call on, he focusses on supporting community groups, charities and programs that work with community support, Men's Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
John is also working to help others to share their stories through hosting Podcasts for Kintsugi Heroes and with occasional speaking and Co-Hosting the Men's Mental Health Radio Show.
Junie Soe (first time appearing at Story Room Global)
With over two decades leading international teams across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia, Junie Soe brings 23 years of expertise in Risk Management to the stage. Once a Head of Risk, she now blends trauma-informed insights with risk analysis to deliver practical, measurable tools for self-leadership transformation.
Born in Myanmar and thriving in Australia since 18, Junie has walked the path of navigating identity conflicts, high-pressure corporate roles, and creating balance between personal and professional life. As a certified Trauma-Informed Coach and Master NLP Practitioner, Junie has developed her signature Self-Leadership Framework built on three pillars: Strategy (Risk Analysis), Science (NLP), and Self-Mastery (trauma-informed leadership). Through keynote speeches, workshops, and coaching, she is on a mission; to enable ambitious professionals and business owners shatter limiting beliefs, master their empowered state, and lead with resilience and aligned confidence
